Are there any allergy friendly places in NYC?
I have very severe nut allergies and was wondering if there are any safe places for me to eat? Also, are there any bakeries or ice cream shops that are nut free?Thanks for the help!
here’s a list of restaurants that a blogger known as allergic girl posted to help those with allergies. she’s eaten safely at these places and is allergic to tree nuts as well as many other things. I’d also recommend calling ahead to ensure your safety and get the name of the person you speak with and ask for them when you arrive so that they can take extra precautions for you. If you react to airborne smell of nuts, then I’d recommend avoiding Thai and Vietnamese foods at all costs. Even Chinese may have almonds or peanuts in some foods.
fyi, I wouldn’t trust any bakery unless it was a dedicated nut free kitchen. You should really pack safe foods for you to bring while you are out and about. and keep in the fridge in the hotel room(ask the hotel to empty it out before you arrive and explain why. (they may charge a restocking fee or something like that or they may not).
