Tips to entertain a baby?
I need games or something to play with a one year old while at a bowling alley (I’m the baby-sitter for the Women’s League). Last week he’d start crying, and the only thing that would make him stop was when I pulled out my cell phone and made it play music. The room has toys in it, but they’re all dirty or broken, so I don’t want him to play with them. So, yeah, suggest anything that’s ever worked for you.
BRING TOYS!!!
Toddlers like picking stuff up and putting it into containers. Get a basket and a bunch of blocks (too big to choke on, please) and stack them up. One game is stacking them up and knocking them down. When he gets sick of that, bring out the basket and show him how to fill it up. Then, of course, he gets to dump it out and start over.
A book will sometimes help littles calm down. Get a baby book with pictures. Say, “OOOHHH, look at the cow…Cow says MOOOOO!…Can you say MOOOO?”
Sing.
Ever heard “Little Bunny Foo-Foo”?
Works like a charm.
So does “Itsy bitsy spider”
