A little darker, was it perhaps too vague?
Tower
There sits a falling tower by the sea
It sways and twists, heart’s twig crackles
Core is rattled, these winds that shatter
Raping voids, my soul unsettled echoes
Oh black linger from where you hail
From distant lands where sands are grey
Or from pastures gold, where heart is said
Gaping in starry silence, for dust has settled
My soul of envy, in dismay we sway
Before air, together in cold frozen May
My red draws blue, hail our angel of fall
Fulfilled desire, dripping tower stands tall
It is a bit vague, but I cannot help but picture the tower from the Tarot Cards. It speaks of discord and discontent, and this poem has the beautiful picture of cacophony in a relationship that’s gone wrong. I must say I love the line “My soul of envy, in dismay we sway…” I think I’ve fallen in love with this poem. But will I fall from the rain drenched tower?
