Are the Phillies really that good?
I don’t really have a team but I do watch baseball frequently and know enough. I watched the playoffs last year. It seems like the Phillies never had a challenge. I don’t want the answer to this question to be biased. Now it seemed to me like Philly got lucky last year by playing Tampa Bay instead of an experienced Red Sox team with Beckett not healthy. It seemed like Tampa Bay was rattled and that helped to the Phillies advantage.
So my question is, are the Phillies really that good? Or is the competition not really that good in the NL and that’s why they’re smoking everyone in their site. I really can see the Phils getting beat by the Angels or Yankees if either of these teams is at their best game.
They’re good, but not that great. The Dodgers are just playing horrible. Their bullpen in this series has been pure crap. None of them has delivered at all. Padilla probably has but in the first game he played. That’s about it. That’s why the Phillies have been getting better looks. Howard though has been great. That guy has been a monster. IMHO I just don’t see that confidence in the Dodger bullpen this series like that in the previous series. Watching the Angels vs Yankees series I can tell these guys are really good. Both have gone at it hard and they are playing at a level above the Dodgers and Phillies. The problem with the Dodgers is they trying to play the hitting game with the Phillies which won’t work. I also blame Torre for some mistakes that would have gave the Dodgers a lead. If you want proof, look at the scores for this series. Most have been close even though the Dodgers have been playing like crap, with the exception of course of game 3 which was just a complete fail by Torre on Kuroda. IMHO, the Phillies would get killed by the Yankees. That’s just my opinion.
