Bright Beginnings
HELP: My 20 month old is a very picky eater. She has a slight milk allergy and is now drinking Soy Bright?
Beginnings to help her increase her weight gain as she is only 18.5 pounds. Her bowel movements are no where near firm. What should I do to help her firm up her stools at help her gain weight. I am beginning to worry a whole lot. Please help me someone.
Its okay if they don’t eat a whole lot..that is typical for toddlers. My daughter is 21 months and 30lbs, and only eats a few bites here and there all day. Then I have a friends daughter who is 2 and not even 20lbs yet, and she eats like you wouldn’t believe..way more than my daughter..but she still stays skinny.
Will she eat plain stuff like, crackers (my daughter likes whole grain ritz, and oyster crackers) or what about cheese? cheese sticks are great, or my daughter also likes shredded cheddar.
Spagetti O’s & Mac n cheese are also good
Have you discussed this with her DR, normally they can tell you wether to worry or not

edit: MarcThyme: I totally disagree with “A 20 month old is incapable of being a “picky eater” unless you enable her” I think most moms would disagree with that. Its actually in their nature to be picky eaters. Or sometimes they will eat anything, and sometimes they won’t eat anything. That is very normal..and its not about enabling them…you have to feed them, you have to offer foods..and somedays they just refuse, you can’t force it.
