How do I stop being lovesick?
I’ve known her for 2 years as a friend, and lately she became romantic and intimate with me for a couple of days, but has since cooled off and told me she needs “space”, yet she still calls me and seeks me out.
How do I stop obsessing over her? She is the first thing I think about when I wake up and it just goes on all day. I get completely rattled and nervous when I do talk to her now, whereas before I was calm and friendly. I hate being like this, and I want it to stop. How do I stop all these butterflies and feelings of obsession?
1- BREAK OFF ALL CONTACT WITH HER
2- BREAK OFF ALL CONTACT WITH HER
3- BREAK OFF ALL- AND I MEAN ALL CONTACT WITH HER.
4- realize that this is part of the healing process- she dumped you “needs space” means its over.
unless someone’s relative just died or they went through some serious trauma or there is a real relationship issue that came up (betrayal) then they don’t “need space” they don’t feel the same way about you that they once did.
get over her and realize that the reaction you are feeling now is your brain pining for what was- and we seek out familar things that trigger thoughts of her- guess what?
its all chemical AND STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT IT IS THE SAME TYPE OF WITHDRAWAL THAT ADDICTS GO THROUGH.
the same chemical reaciton in our brain that shoots us up and makes us feel good (dopamine) when in a relationship- make us feel bad when it is no longer present.
only TIME and a new woman will heal your wounds. give it time first.
and you can’t break your habit (her) if you are near her. can an alcoholic kick the sauce when he lives in a room full of beer cases?
no- neither can you.
whenever you think of her, think of the bad things- maybe that will help-
go out with your friends, have them take you out and be social- bars, parties, the gym, playing pickup games of ball in the park- whatever. even if you don’t feel like meeting someone- then just bieng out will help take your mind off her-
slightly at first- maybe once that night when the two female bartenders get up on the bar and start making out for the crowd and begin grabbing each other. then for minuites at a time- then hours, then days, then before you know it you will barely think about her at all.
