Why does my dog have blackish brown gums?
I have a german shepherd and i took her to the vet yesterday i saw this sign that had a picture of a dog having blackish brown gums. today i checked her gums and they were balck and brown. So i just want to know if thats bad. thanks for reading and answering.
The picture you saw was probably of a dog with a build up of plaque on its teeth – this can cause gum disease. Most dogs have black and/or pink gums – the black is just pigmentation. If your dogs teeth are reasonably clean and the gums don’t look swollen or enflamed, she’ll be fine.
