How do you tell if a hot dog has gone bad?
I have a package of Bar S hot dogs in my refrigerator. They are unopened, but have never been frozen. They appear to look okay, and smell as normal as a hot dog would, but the use by date was September 4, 2006. If I heat it super hot in the microwave, would it be safe to eat? We are looking for something for lunch…and Id go to the store if I had any bloody money to buy a new package.
It’s been a few months since it have expired so I don’t think it’s even a good idea to eat it or even sanitize it with hot water or anything before you eat it. You’ll probably get sick.
