Do your kids have a special lovey?
My 4 girls all have a special lovey that they have to have when they sleep. My 3 little ones always take theirs everywhere. My oldest doesn’t take hers to school but takes it everywhere else with us.
My oldest has a polka dot blanket and a bunny from build a bear
My twin girls both have a blanket one has a Giraffe Blanket and one has a Penguin Blanket
My youngest daughter has a ducky blanket
How old is your little one and how old do you think they will be when they get rid of their lovey?
oh do they.. haha well actually they did.. they are all kinda over them now.
My oldest took interest on an old teddybear of mine that I used to sleep with when I was around 5 or 6. It was sitting on my bed ( it was the only toy thing I took from my parents house when I moved out) and once he was crawling aound he found it and then he didnt let go of it.. He used to sleep with it and he took it to car many times but its kinda big ( like a good foot tall) so we didnt allow him to just carry it outside.
So he was about 10 mos and hes now 7 1/2 and although hes no where near as clingy to it than he was, he still likes to have it in his bed.
My middle one was about 6 mos whn he found himself a lovey, he was going after ‘Teddy’ and since I didnt make my oldest share his lovey I just gave him a stuffed puppy to distract him. Well he took to the puppy and dragged that thing around for the next 2 years. Outside, inside, everywhere. I could barely pry it out of his sticky hands to wash it every once in a while.
Once he was around 3 he kinda lost interest on it.. he hasnt even looked at it for at least a year.. he’ll be 5 in 2 weeks.
My daughter was also like 7 or 8 mos when she found a lovey.
Well she used to have this blanket she dragged everywhere ( she would hold onto it with her mouth when she was crawling haha) but we were at the dollarstore and she was fussing so I gave her a stuffed monkey to hold onto and when we were at teh checkout I was gonna leave it but she screamed bloody murder so I jsut bought it.. She was obsessed with it and took it everwhere. She lost it at a mall once and I had to go buy another one, luckily they still had them.
Shes 3 1/2 now and lately shes been letting go of it little. She used to take it everywhere and sat next to the washer while it was being washed.
She still sometimes carries it around even outside but like today, I havent even seen it and its not a big deal. i think its somewhere in her bed or under it etc.. There was a time it was impossible to get her to even another room if she didnt have the monkey in a chokehold in her hand.
