If i want to go onto being a primary school teacher, should i take a-levels or Btec in early years?
I’ve just finished with my GCSEs and i got 6 GCSE’s over C…so i know i’m ok with that. But i’m not sure what i should do next. i enrolled at a college to do a-levels, but recently found a BTEC course in early years, and i’m not sure which would be better to go onto being a primary school teacher. The BTEC seems to offer more in workign with children, and would be able to carry me straight from college.

I have no idea what GDSE stands for. If you want to get into teaching, take courses that get you in the classroom asap. I felt out of my element when I started student teaching my senior year and didn’t feel like I had enough experience in the classroom to feel confident. This was especially hard with discipline because I was put in a 5/6 grade split with very tough kids. I’ve always been a very good student with good grades, but that didn’t actually help once I was in the classroom. I might not have gone into teaching if I had spent more time in the classroom early on. Good luck.
