HELP?!?! I need AUDITION SONG IDEAS???
I am going to be auditioning for the summer musical Children of Eden at my high school. I really really want a part in it but it is very competitive to get a part. I am having a HUGE problem on decideing on what song to sing for the audition. They want us prepare a 16 bar song for them and bring the sheet music as well. I am a soprano 1 but I can sing other parts as well. Any Ideas???????
I have the sheet music for A thousand miles by vanessa caroltion and the sheet music for all the songs in the musical wicked. however I’m not sure if I should do those because i dont have them completly memorized.
I also have the sheet music for the songs on Jump5′s Accellerate CD. But that is all the sheet music I own. I just need song suggestions to point me in the right direction.
OH! One more thing. The song does not have to be from a musical. I am not too familiar with many musicals either, sadly, so I would also like suggestions of songs that are not from musicals. thanks soo much everyone! 
What is your vocal range?
You might want to try doing a song from the musical Godspell (both Godspell and Children of Eden are religious), especially if you are a mezzo soprano or alto, there are a lot of choices. Some standouts are “Bless the Lord my Soul” and “By My Side”.
Note: Shows that are popular on Broadway right now… Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Rent are horribly overdone in auditions right now.
