Each city should have there own official language: answer: NO. The most important is they have the common or homegrown dialects used. What’s the purpose of official language in the city if they have common dialects used? This will only create confusion to the new generation. So I would say NO.
Definitely, a country should have an official language! The purpose of the official language in the country is that every city, region, provinces or states will understand each other despite of different dialects they spoke in every city or region… This will help them in national and international matters.
