How to get out a small plastic car that’s been flushed down the toilet?
I think my son flushed a small plastic car http://www.hasbro.com/playskool/default.cfm?page=browse&product_id=18313 down the toilet, and it won’t flush now, we can plunge it for 5-10 min to get the water down, but we have to do that EVERY time. We’ve tried sticking our hand down but it’s farther than we can reach. Any home remedy ideas I can try before I have to call a plumber?
You could try a closet snake which is available at most hardware stores. However, experience has taught that plastic items often part to allow the snake to pass instead of breaking up. If your lucky, the item will sometimes withdraw with the snake when you remove it. The most dependable method is to dismantle the water closet. I recommend you replace the wax ring seal when restoring the water closet.
