Hat Plush
Have you gotten any stuffing free plush animals for your dog?
Do you like them? My dog started losing stuffing on his stuffed animals so I decided to try these. I just got two of them today but I’m not sure if I like them for stuffed animals since my dog also likes to use his stuffed animals for pillows and these are pretty worthless for that. But the way he’s tugging at the feet on one and the hat on the other, I don’t see this being any better than a regular stuffed animal if he’s just going to rip it apart. Have you used these and do you like them? I think I’m just going to have to stay away from plush toys altogether.
Skinneez brand is similar to what you mentioned–a soft toy with no stuffing, although it often has squeakers.
My dog loves the Skinneez. I do have to watch her closely with them until the squeakers are available to her–I grab those and throw them out. But she will still play with it once the squeakers are gone. And I appreciate not having to follow her around and pick up stuffing!
My dog will play with them once the squeakers are gone–my mom’s lose interest the second the squeakers are taken away and thrown out. So it seems to depend on the individual dog.
Soft toys will be destroyed by my dog within minutes, always. As I know this, I only buy two sorts of soft toys:
-Tuffies brand (they do last much longer)–we’ve got a few that have lasted for months now!
-Clearance soft toys–if she’s going to destroy them in minutes, I get them cheap when I can! If you go into PetCo the day after any holiday, they will have the holiday themed soft toys for 75% off. They’re literally a buck or two a piece. Buy a bunch of them then and put them away for later. 
I’ll be making a stop at PetCo on February 15th to pick up ‘almost free’ Valentines Day toys.
And Petco in particular has a wonderful Clearance Bin. I got a dog life vest (for use on boats and such) for $3, and yesterday picked up a Tuffies Jr. Oddball ( a football shaped toy) with one dead squeaker for $1! The life vest was worth $25-40, depending on where you buy, and the Tuffies toy was worth $10 -15, again, depending on the place of purchase.
Any time I am driving by a PetCo., I check out their clearance bin–fantastic values. Even if I can’t use the bargains for my dog, I pick up a few things for the shelter.
