Do I have to prime on top of interior latex flat before putting another coat of paint on my walls?
My house was brand new when we first moved in and now we want to paint (3 years later). What’s on the walls is Interior Latex Flat. Do I need to prime the walls before putting color on them?
Depends what colors you’re choosing !
If you decide on darker colors you should use the primer!
Dark colors will often need a pink primer.
Also use primer if your walls are different colors to even them out.
I just painted my living room red .Color specialist told me to use the primer.So I did ,but only on my first wall! I thought it would take too long! BIG MISTAKE ! The walls without primer are totally in a different shade ,even after putting 3 coats of red I haven’t achieved the true color of the paint!
Always use primer on new drywall,plaster! Paint will “bubble up” on drywall and will peel off instantly after you painted! I learnt that the hard way of course!
