Lovey Blankie
Should my child share her blankie?
My child is three. She has a “blankie” that she sleeps with and it’s her little comfort item or lovey as some people say. When her friends come over I make her share all of her toys but I don’t make her share her blankie. I just tell her to put it away and that she can have it later. Is that a big deal? I’ve heard that it’s okay to have your child put away their “prized possession” if they wish when friends come over. But with everything else I try to instill in her the importance of sharing and being a nice friend.
Something like that is better hidden until the friends leave. With anything, whether you are an adult or kid, there are things are yours and yours alone. You can teach her to share everything else, but something as special as a “lovey” should just be hers. Besides, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to it unless you have a replica!
