Lovie Blanket
How old does a baby need to be to sleep with a lovie?
I have an almost-5 month old daughter and she’s obviously not old enough to be sleeping with a stuffed animal or blanket “lovie” yet. How old does an infant need to be before they can do this?
Right now she sleeps with a binkie. I want to take it away from her as soon as I can. I want to transition to “night only” binkie at 6 months, but I don’t want to completely take it away until I can “replace” it with something to make the transition easier. I’m almost 25 and I still sleep with my blanket tucked under my arm! It’s just more comfortable, I think, to have something to hold…
I know some people will think I am terrible, but our daughter has slept with one since she was 2 months old, and she covers her face with it. That was the only way I could put her down to sleep. I checked her frequently to make sure she was still breathing. She’s now 1 year old. If it makes you uncomfortable, don’t do it.
