Is it normal for a male ferret to get all possessive and aggressive over a little plush mouse..?
he began hissing and shaking his head back and forth and wiggling like mad when I tried to grab the other end of the mouse and take it away from him in play. Im guessing this is some kind of natural instinct kicking in… but im not sure. anyone know if this is normal? should I let him go off and have his fun with it or discourage it?
he also bit my finger and drew blood! crazy, he’s not usually like this

It can be normal if the ferret REALLY likes something. For example: I have a small child who is really into baby dolls right now. She has every gadget, toy, and piece of clothing imaginable for these dolls. She ‘had’ a pacifier which Kevvy claimed his. He got VERY upset if any of the other boys (ferrets), me, or my daughter tried to take it from him. He would try to hide it and if anyone got close he would lunge and bite. He never has exhibited this behavior before and it was completely un-like him. He just really liked the darn pacifier. Even so…I OBVIOUSLY couldn’t let this behavior continue. The pacifier can no longer be kept in the bedroom where my ferrets live and if my ferrets are free roaming for the day the pacifier gets hidden. 
Kevvy has been ‘back to normal’ ever since.
On the other hand…if this becomes a normal thing for your ferret AND he is showing signs of sickness and hair loss, this (aggression) could actually be a symptom of illness. In this case have a check-up with the vet.
Either way…don’t encourage the behavior. When you get the free chance remove the toy and trash it or hide it.
