Isn’t it wrong for a child to be like this?
So my friend’s little cousin is 12. I think it’s so stupid her mother has made her into this little weird hippy. She sews, draws, paints, makes things, watches unique movies and reads a lot. She listens to these bands i’ve never heard of and wears a lot of patchwork skirts and dresses or just non-trendy clothes. Apparently she does have friends though…. She’s been around us here and there lately and I just don’t think it’s right for a child to be like her. Her mom is a hippy but it’s just mean that she raised her child as one. I feel like she’s missing out on a lot of popular puppy love crushes, music, tv and fashion. She and my sister don’t understand eachother at all and that’s just weird to me. Don’t you guys think that a child should be raised with more pop culture and trend so that they’re not so different in this world?
Absolutely! If she hasn’t learned to make a clone of herself by 12, what chance will she ever have? This business of practicing individuality went out in the 70s. What good can come of a child who’s allowed to run rampant and amuse herself? She’s going to become a hermit or she’ll expect too much of society and not ever be satisfied with what it can give her. I bet she hardly knows who Britney Spears is, and this sort of culture was made to last for generations…nay, centuries. But with that kind of longevity, there’s still hope the girl can learn such important elements of life. It’s not like they shave their heads and disappear overnight. That poor girl’s mother must be drugging her, though. It isn’t normal for any child to be content. It’s downright weird.
