Rabbit advice for bunny blues?
I have 2 adult bunnys they both have their winter coats. I move their hutches indoors of a night time and when its freezing outside
Lately its been too cold i think too put them outside its been minus 5 outside the last two nights and the days have been just as cold.
They have been in the garage for 3 days now i bring them out a few times a day indoors for a run around or a cuddle for a couple of hours.
I think they miss the day light. Theres no windows in the garage and i leave the light of for them when i can. One rabbit is a dwarf and the other is a lionhead. Would they be safe outside in their run for a while each day in the freezing cold? if not what could i do to help the poor bunny’s. I hate seeing them so fedup because they cant go outside coz of the freezing cold. i pray that the weather will turn warmer soon so they can go outside to play.
Rabbits tolerate cold very well, but anything too far below freezing is too cold for a small rabbit. They would be fine outside in their run for about 20 minutes at a time, but it’s probably a good idea to keep them inside when it’s minus 5. I recently had to keep my bunnies inside for almost a week because we had a snowstorm and cold snap, and they do get a little depressed. The difference in light and environment throws off their circadian rhythms, but I’d rather have a slightly depressed bunny for a few days than a “bunnysicle.”
