Are petrol price increases being fueled by investers ?
I know that world demand has increased and China and India have increased demand, but I find it very coincidental, that petrol prices have gone up after the sub-prime mortgage problem and credit crunch.
The question is; are speculative investors dumping money into oil to force up the price to make up the sub-prime shortfalls. Are we seeing rich investors creating a bull market to over inflate the oil market in the same way they over inflated the housing market. I’m not saying this is the only reason why oil prices are increasing, but if this activity is going on, shouldn’t it be stopped?
There is no shortage of fuels on the world market.
Speculators are the one`s who are forcing oil
prices up to record levels.China and India do not
pay the price of petrol and diesel as we in the UK.
we have high fuel tax duty to pay plus a higher
basic cost of fuels,the profit margins in the other
country’s come no were near what we have to pay.
European country’s and the USA pay far less than
we do,but still the speculators make huge profits
on the open oil markets.
