Is my puppy being protective or alpha?
About two months ago I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. 3 months before delivery my husband and I adopted a puppy. Now ever since my son was born, the puppy is always in his room and, sometimes barks and circles the bottom of the crib. Finally one day my husband put her in the crib whit our son while he was sleeping.
Our puppy just curls up next to our son and, sleeps next to him. My husband thinks it’s cute and, that she feels protective over him. Though the sight is genuinely adorable, i’m wondering if this is good? Is it healthy? My mother said it just means our dog and son will be best pals as time goes on but, should we continue to put her in the crib?
Oh my gosh, how sweet!! Your puppy thinks your baby is his brother! Seriously, the puppy means well and although I wouldn’t leave him unattended with your baby, I wouldn’t worry. It sounds like he’s bonded with your son already and it just makes me smile to hear your story. I just love it. Now, if you can train the dog to change the diapers…..
