Rabbit Baby
As my baby rabbit is eating her bedding which is straw would it be best to change it to hay?
Hello all, My baby rabbit is eating a lot of her bedding which is straw. She eats the food I provided and there is hay there for her too. But i have noticed she is eating a lot of the straw. Can anyone recommend anything i can do? Do rabbits need toys?
Rabbits do this – they much the bedding, I had 2 bunnies when I was little and found they also munched their hutch…..
Most pet shops will sell little blocks of apple wood for bunnies to nibble on, as their teeth keep growing they have to gnaw at things to keep them down. Apple wood is best, don’t go slinging any old branch in the hutch!
I found my two weren’t interested in anything else in their hutch but we’d let them gallop around the garden each Sunday and they used to bash about – or nudge with their nose – a battered old tennis ball that was in the garden.
Some bunnies like the company of either another bunny (although this works best if they are bought at the same time), other people buy a guinea pig as company although if the GP is bought after the bunny, it can sometimes get bullied!
