Rattle First
acura integra has a really loud rattling type sound when i first start?
so when i first start the car their is a really loud rattling sound, but usually dies down but not completely gone after the engine warms up, but it still drives fine when it shift into 2nd gear. its a automatic.
i can’t figure out where the sound is coming from since the sound dies down after i start driving so i assume its the engine but then the sound is NOT coming from the front but like the bottom of the car towards the rear.
anyone have any ideas? be very helpful
I would look at the exhaust system, especially the Muffler and Cat Converter. Components inside the muffler can rattle because they can be loose when cold. As the parts (usually pipes or tubes) heat up, they expand and tighten up, thus the rattle gets less obvious.
