Rattle Set
Help me with my drum set problem!?
my father bought a drum set off ebay by gammon percussion. He also set it up ENTIRELY because he wanted it to be a surprise. He knows nothing about drums so it didnt sound very good at first, then i put a blanket in the base drum and rearranged the set. the 2nd tom makes the snares on the snare drum rattle a whole lot, so should i tune it lower/higher? and i have one high-hat and one crash/ride. I want to know if i should get zildgain pitch black set of three ride,crash,and high-hat cymbals or just get a normal ride? please help me so i can make my drum set the best it can possibly be! THANKS
Basements are usually where drums sets go in a normal house, but these spaces are not built acoustically to accommodate musical instruments. You might consider to improve the basement by applying sound insulation.
Usually tuning lowering the 2nd tom should solve the rattle of snares, but also check the hardware and make sure everything is mounted properly.
In general quality cymbals don’t come with a drum together. If your drum set has sheet metal cymbals, they won’t sound good. You should consider cast cymbals preferably hand hammered matching to your music.
