1st birthday money saving ideas?
I am planning my son’s first birthday (such a bitter sweet event!) and I am a single mom so I need some money saving ideas.
The theme is Seseme Beginnings. I am planning on making the cake myself. I am also going to get “plain” decorations like red, blue, and yellow streamers instead of buying ones with sesame faces on them.
I made my own invitations. What else can i do to save a little?
also, any cute ideas you used for your kids’ birthdays? I was thinking of having a snack table with signs of what the food is like goldfish crackers be “Elmo’s friend Dorthy” and have “Cookie Monsters Cookies” and maybe have pasta salad that is “Mr. Noodles’ noodles”
LOVE the Seseme beginnings. Those little guys in diapers are ADORABLE!!!
I would try to go as far as you can with just blue, yellow, and red decorations. and then use your own figurines or stuffed animals from home to decorate.
The signs are a cute idea if you make them yourself, but if the supplies are expensive, skip them
Try doing it outdoors if the weather is to be nice. you will need less decorations then if it is inside.
skip party favors.. most kids through it all away anyways
also try buying one or two items per pay check if you have some time. it doesn’t save money but it spreads the cost out and doesn’t seem like so much.
