Taggies, teddy bears & SIDS?
Hi Ladies,
So I know you’re not supposed to put teddy bears or soft toys in the cot with your baby but what about ‘taggies’ (http://www.taggies.com/). My sister recently bought one for my 4month old & he LOVES to sleep with it but I’ve gone in & found it over his face & freaked out & taken it from him (although you can easily breathe through it) so should I give it back to him? Is it safe?
My angel niece passed away from SIDS…

ETA – I’m aware that SIDS isn’t suffocation but as the SIDS & Kids website advises the following:
2. Sleep baby with face uncovered (no doonas, pillows, lambs wool, bumpers or soft toys)
I thought maybe this would include the Taggie blanket…
I wouldn’t either. And I’m pretty sure sids and kids would say nothing in the cot at all… including blankies etc.
Although I do know someone who cut a muslin wrap in half and tucked it tightly down one side of the mattress so that the baby could just play with it but not pull it out or over her face.
