Little bump on jaw/neck?
Hello, today in class i noticed this little bump like under my jaw near my neck. It doesn’t hurt unless i press it. Its not huge but if i run my finger over it i can definitely feel a bump. Im really scared in case it’s something serious. I googled it and it came up with a swollen lymph node or something? And that it swells if you’re sick? I’m not sick I don’t think, but both my parent’s had colds and just got over it around 4 days ago? A lot of people in my class are ill too.
I just noticed it today. if it helps i got a cold sore around 2 days ago and i have a lot of phlegm. Will this node thingy go away on its own? Anything i can do ti help it go? Like remedies?
Btw Im 15. And please don’t say go to the doctors because i’m very scared of the doctors, i’m scared they’ll give me a bloodtest! 
Cold sores can cause swollen lymph nodes. Cold sores are caused by a virus, and drainage may be through the lymph node, which would cause an enlarged lymph node just as you describe. Once the virus is out of your symptom, the lymph node should go down. There’s really no treatment for swollen lymph nodes, but again, it will go away in a few days.
A lot of phlegm could be the first sign of a cold or sinus infection, both of which can also cause swollen lymph nodes. And that too is natural, not serious, and wouldn’t need treatment.
If the bump under your jaw doesn’t go away in a week or two, then (I’m sorry) you probably should see your doctor (which doesn’t necessarily need a blood test! : )
