I need to find the perfect hotel in East Side manhattan near these attractions…….?
Im planning a vacation to New York City and Im having a hard time finding a hotel close to all of the attractions that I plan on visiting. The top three main reasons why I am going over there is to see the rockefeller center, central park, and fao schwartz toy store. Can anybody please help me find a hotel nearby all three of these places that is no more than 1-3 blocks in distance since I will be walking to everywhere and wont have enough money to pay for a cab everyday..oh and it would help to if the hotel isnt like suuuuper expensive. thanks!!!
my husband & I went to NY in May from Scotland in May this year and stayed in 70 Park avenue. very deluxe hotel, lovely and central. it was on Park ave and 3 blocks from 42nd street which is where grand central terminal is, you can get the subway from there to Central park as it is a fair walk from there to the park, but if it’s nice day, it’s a nice walk up 5th avenue, past trump towers, etc. Rockerfella centre is a tiny bit away from 42nd street, you would walk it from that area no problem, and Times square is a short walk up 42nd street. so if your budget didn’t stretch to 70 Park avenue, then look for hotels on Park ave, around 36th and 48th street, this will keep you central to the places of interest you want to see. my brother stayed in a hotel called Hotel Jolly, which is on 37th or 38th street I think. Hope you find something close to what your looking for, since I have been there, it is easy for me to say to you that all 3 paces you want to visit can be reached by walking alone. the toy shop is very close too 42nd street too, it is right next to the large Apple store, the fromtage is quite small so try not to miss it. Hope your going upstairs to play on the piano from the film BIG that starred Tom Hanks, I did and I turned 40 whilst in NY, it was great fun.
